Works good so far! Without a subscription currently and it still has a lot of controls and basic things. Perfect if you don’t want your kids out of the house or someone opens a door. I wouldn’t trust my life on it though

This is probably the only system that you do not need subscription to work. We live in Canada and they do not support – alerts are sent to only me which is not an issue. And we do not have cameras which would require a subscription for full usefulness. Setting up door and water sensors and motion detectors is straight forward although I had an issue in that I set up at our house, to test out, and then moved to our seasonal cabin. For the life of me, could NOT change WiFi network and searching internet did not help. NOTE: you can change in SETTINGS on the keypad but you MUST enter the MASTER password. I was using the codes I programmed for entry, which do not let you into settings. I had forgotten that I had a MASTER password. After that, setup was so EASY. Each device pairs with a simple push of the SYNC button. The motion sensors stick up with tape, but I added small screw for stability. Similarly with out patio doors and the sensors. Everything has been working for weeks. Compared to old style alarm system requiring engineering degree to set up, this was a breeze.

Very easy to set up and operate. The thing I like about the system is that you can use any number of senses on doors walls etc and put them wherever you want. The only problem I had was downloading the APP as I live in Australia and had a region problem as the APP was only available in the US. Very happy so far.

Alarm goes off and I get a message instantly with a text and a email. I had a question and I called and they were able to help me over the phone. Absolutely trash. The base station has troubles connecting to wifi after reinstalling. Constantly. It requires you to unscrew the device to take out the batteries for a manual reset. Those two problems compound upon each other. The pad lets you put in wifi manually, however it forgets when you press check for updates. It then forgets again when you put in the wifi details again causing loops of headaches.

I love simplisafe products. I’ve been using them for 10 years, and I stay with them because of their reliability. You can either have simplisafe do the monitoring for you, or if you are always home, or most the time home, you can self monitor. It’s your choice. I choose to self monitor, because I know faster than the simplisafe monitoring team if I need to call the police or not. Simplisafe tries to reach me on the phone before they call the police. Understandable because they don’t want false alarms. But because I’m always here, self monitoring is my choice. If I was away a lot, I would choose the simplisafe monitoring of course. The good thing is you can choose for yourself what fits your needs best. I highly recommend this product. They have a great support team too. Even with self monitoring they help you work through any system issue so it’s back online fast. I feel much safer with this great system. On top of all that, it’s extremely reasonably priced. You won’t beat this price for the same quality product. I have looked. This is as good as it’s going to get.

Prior to purchasing this security system, I just had a GE door alarm for my apartment which for the $10 price it wasn’t bad, it did what it needed to do which was sound an alarm as soon as my front door was opened when it was armed. The problem was I would constantly forget to disarm it before leaving in the morning and ended up setting off the very loud alarm waking up my neighbors and almost giving myself a heart attack. Wanting something more advanced with more settings, I decided to purchase this Simplisafe system when it was on sale around Black Friday after seeing all the features and reviews. I was a little nervous about setting it up but I just followed the app instructions after downloading it and it walks you through every step. As of right now I just have one sensor on my front door, I haven’t set up the other devices but I’m not sure I really need them as of right now so I’m happy with the door sensor (I also have pets that would set off the motion sensor). It’s really easy to arm the system, literally just the press of a button on the app or key pad. I really like that I can get alerts on my phone if the alarm is triggered when I’m away from home. What I love most though is the fact that when I forget to disarm it in the morning, instead of a blaring alarm like my old door alarm this just beeps giving you time to turn it off. No more angry neighbors in the morning and no more near heart attacks for me from the alarm.
